Bio

  • Trial Expertise: Early in her career, Ms. Cole worked as a defense attorney for several large insurance companies in the General District and Circuit Courts of the Hampton Roads and Roanoke areas. She now uses this insurance expertise to represent injured clients, negotiate successful settlements, and achieve desired outcomes in the courtroom. She has tried hundreds of cases in Virginia courtrooms. More importantly, she has developed relationships with counsel on both sides of the aisle which she uses to her clients’ benefit. She began her legal career in Orlando, FL representing indigent defendants as a Public Defender. This experience reinforced how difficult it can be for people to find themselves in a court room, and how the comfort of a strong advocate on their side can change the entire process for them. Ms. Cole understands that many cases rightfully result in settlement. When trial is the right choice, her clients will be prepared and confident, and Ms. Cole is dedicated to presenting a compelling case in court.
  • Personal Injury: Having worked for insurance companies gives Ms. Cole and inside edge on what makes a successful personal injury case.  She guides her clients through each phase of their claim to maximize their recovery.  However, she understands that an injury claim is much more than a monetary recovery.  She knows the strain this can put on her clients’ lives and will help them navigate the hurdles of car repair, loss of employment opportunities, and medical expenses.  She has successfully handled complex motor vehicle accident claims, premises liability claims, serious injury claims involving traumatic brain injuries, and medical malpractice claims.

  • Criminal / Traffic Law: Ms. Cole represents citizens in local courts for criminal and traffic infractions.  She understands the financial strain a traffic ticket can present and the stress of standing alone in a courtroom.

  • Guardian and Conservatorship of Minors and Incapacitated Adults: Caring for a minor with special needs who is approaching the age of 18 requires specific advice and planning.  A portion of Ms. Cole’s practice is focused on providing guidance to families in this situation.  Additionally, Ms. Cole works with families and community organizations to provide care and guidance to families of incapacitated adults.  Adjusting to the needs of these family members can be a stressful time and Ms. Cole and her team have the knowledge and dedication to help families make decisions that are best for them.
